Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day!

My first ever!  I have always wanted to have time/remember/have blooms for Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day and this time I do!  I'm very excited!  This is what I have in my garden now.  My favorite are the irises.  I eagerly anticipate them every year, despite their short blooming period (or maybe because of it).  I don't know the varieties of either since both of them were donations - one from a friend and one from my grandmother's garden.  The purple and white one is from my grandmother...it is just about to burst open!

And of course in Calgary we are still into our spring blooms.  I love my tulips this year!  I have always dreamed of having a garden bursting with tulips and this year I finally feel like I've achieved it!  So happy!
 More favorite spring blooms...

Also I have my new snowdrop anemones flowering.  I just got these last year after wandering around my neighbourhood and seeing them in other gardens.  I love them!  So glad to have my own.
And of course my bleeding hearts are just now flowering and my alliums look about ready to burst!
Well, I had fun!  Hope you enjoy the blooms!

Beautiful post, so many familiar (flower) faces! I also have finally acheived the tulip quantity I had always wanted. I was off bulbs for sometime, but now fully appreciate what a difference they make early on in the growing season.

Hey garden girl,
The tulips are gorgeous! We don't see those down here very often.

I think this may be the first time I've visited a geophysicist's garden! It's looking very good... welcome to Bloom Day! Larry

I had to check where you live, irises and tulips are but a distant memory for me. But how beautiful they are, and I'm so thrilled you showed them to us all.

Beautiful post...and I agree...having a garden full of tulips always makes me happy...especially after winter's grey!

Bleeding Hearts & Grape Hyacinths are two plants I'd love to try in my garden. That look great in yours. Happy GBBD!

Your garden is looking great! In zone 3 we have such a compressed season that spring and summer blooms are popping up on top of each other. I think it is festive.

This is the first time I have seen someone post a pic of alliums just before they open. They look sweet and are something I really want to add to my garden. Happy Bloom Day! :)

Nice to see the Tulips, they are long gone over here in Ireland.
